Stating the Obvious

“Nepal’s far capital is Katmandu.”
The color of the ocean isn’t blue.
The laws of physics are a flimsy glue

holding the feral universe together.
A body is a cage of bone and leather.
True art is unaffected by the weather,

but true art is a harsh and heartless master
best left a fantasy. Regret is faster
than memory itself. Hope breeds disaster,

but hopelessness is harder to endure
than chaos. Oscar Wilde himself was sure
that truth is never simple, rarely pure.
